20x200
I want to share a delightful little find with you. 20x200 is an online gallery designed to bring good, affordable art to the people who want it. The theory can be summed up with a little equation Jen Bekman came up with: (limited editions x low prices) + the internet = art for everyone. As someone who has loves art and is constantly on the lookout for new things, I fell in love with this place....

Michigan Central Station
Detroit’s forgotten buildings are some of the most beautiful I’ve seen. The Statler Hotel, the Metropolitan Building, the many abandoned homes, and of course, Michigan Central Station. It was built in 1913, after the older station burnt down. The station did fairly well from its opening through the end of World War II. At that point the number of passengers had declined severely....

summer adventures.
Lately I’ve been so, so excited for summer. More than I usually am (which is a lot). I recently got a summer job that will take me far away from my hometown. I will be working with YouthWorks as a Work Projects Coordinator. Basically, I’ll sent to a site somewhere in the US to stay for the summer. Each week a new group of high school and junior high aged kids will come for a mission...

I’ve been a lover of old buildings for as long as I can remember. When I was seven years old I watched a gorgeous building in my hometown get hit with a wrecking ball. I wondered why all these people were excited that the building was being destroyed. I felt like it was a bad thing- that building didn’t deserve that. I remember watching the news footage of the Hudson Department...

one.
1.24.2011 This is a wall in my room (taken with my iPhone, hence the horrid quality). Remember that photo collage from earlier? I want to do something like that here. The only thing there now is a framed reproduction map of Charleston circa 1872.  I’m currently in the process of finding what else I want to hang. It needs to be inexpensive because my college budget doesn’t have...

a fresh start & 365 photos.
I’m going to get a bit wordy here, bear with me. This is not my first Tumblr. I had one that was a good size. It just got overwhelming, really. The posts didn’t make any sense. I had no focus. I just didn’t like it anymore. So I deleted it. Which, at first, kind of sucked. I took a three week break before making this one. I have every intention of staying focused this time. The...

via midnighthush. This quote makes me think of Charleston, South Carolina. My little city by the sea. Someday, I’ll call you home.
